Twitter App Update Copying Facebook?

I don’t know about you, but whenever I see that little red and white one on my App Store icon on my iPhone screen, I get a little too excited. Probably more excited than anyone should. Applications on not only iPhones, but iPads and Androids as well are always evolving with more tantalizing features. And even when you think your Twitter app or your With Friends gaming apps cannot get any better, well they do.

Today I was surprised to see my little red and white one on my iPhone meant there was a new Twitter update. I am constantly on Twitter on my phone (I think I actually like it better than being on Twitter on my laptop.)Dick Costolo, CEO of Twitter, announced today on the Today Show that the new Twitter app will give users the chance to upload a new header photo on your profile. This will be shown above your tweets and anyone who views your profile will be able to see it. For you iPad users out there, you should definitely consider checking out your Twitter update because it is supposedly visually gorgeous.

But anyway, does this header image remind you a little of the mega social network Facebook’s header profile image? To me, I never enjoyed the new layout of FB profile pages and reluctantly had to switch over when FB no longer provided the old profile page. Till this day I still do not have a header on my FB and don’t see that changing anytime soon (I actually have been devoting most my time to Twitter these days anyway.) So what do you think? Will the header on your Twitter profile page enhance your Twittering experience? Will you even update a picture or just ignore this update and stick to your old Twittering ways? For me, I’ll have to wait this one out. Oh, the problems we app users have these days…
